I started my career in finance, working in private equity and later as CFO at a telecoms business.
Over those years, one thing became obvious: companies don’t succeed purely because of capital, they succeed because of talented people. After helping scale a 30-person business to 100, I realised we had done that without ever really getting performance management right. Our reviews were spreadsheet-based, our goals were vague, and recognition was mostly reactive.
That frustration led me to start building.
I launched an engagement survey tool first, then built a performance review platform that didn’t stick. After iterating, testing, and listening to early adopters, I rebuilt everything into what became TeamMaven — the performance platform for lean HR teams who want real growth, not bloated software.
